Obituary of Stanley Gorzynski

Honolulu, Hawaii - Stanley J. Gorzynski, 89, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Stanley was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Joseph and Constance Gorzynski. He graduated from St. Joseph's High School and then proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Stanley ended his 39 year career as a government employee as an auditor at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, retiring in 1982. He was a long time communicant of St. Mary's Church, a member of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) and AARP. Stanley moved to Honolulu in 2009 to be close to his daughters and resided at the Hawaii Kai Retirement Community until his passing. Stanley was predeceased by his wife, Dorothea N. (James) Gorzynski in 1998, after 50 years of marriage. Stanley is survived by his daughters, Janice Gorzynski Smith and Judith Constance Wright; grandchildren, Erin, Jenna, Matthew and Zachary; and three great-grandsons. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his grandchildren, Sean Quirk and Megan Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist, Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the Mass from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Schenectady.
