Obituary of John Abele

John Abele, 89, passed away at Kingsway Arms on Friday, July 29, 2011. Born in Amsterdam, John was a foreman in the shipping department for Sealtest Ice Cream for many years before retiring. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a recipient of a purple heart. He was predeceased by a son, William Abele. Survivors include a wife, Anita Evans; a son, Robert Abele of Schenectady; two granddaughters, Kelly Martin and Stephanie Booth; and three great-grandsons, Jacob Papa, Dillon Martin and William Booth.
