Obituary of Joseph Davies

Joseph D. Davies Sr. passed away peacefully at his son's home on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Born in Schenectady, Joseph graduated from high school in 1946, then enlisted in the Army. He was honorably discharged in 1948. In 1954, he married his high school sweetheart, Jeannine. Joseph graduated from Siena College and began his career in finance with the General Electric Company. He was a longtime patron of Luigi's restaurant and an avid golfer at the Schenectady Municipal golf course. He is predeceased by his wife, Jeannine. Joseph is survived by five children, Joseph (Linda) Davies, Lisa Davies-Nicoll (Bruce, predeceased), Claudia Davies (Greg LeClaire), Jacqueline Davies and John (Janet) Davies. Ten grandchildren also survive him. Calling hours, Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m., 6 to 8 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McCellan St. Funeral Service, Friday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 225 Lafayette St. Interment, St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville after the ass.
