Obituary of Jean Schumacher-Williams

Schenectady - Jean Helen Schumacher-Williams (April, 25 1937-June, 27 2014) on Friday morning, with her loving family by her side, Jean passed away peacefully. A lifelong resident of Schenectady, NY, Jean was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School (class of 1956). For 24 years, she worked as a nurse at Pediatric Associates. Jean had a passion for working with children, and in her free time she loved reading and traveling and camping with her husband. Daughter to the late John and Mildred Schumacher; her six siblings, Vincent, Marie, Clarissa, Donald, Barbara, and John, preceded her in death. Jean is survived by her husband and best friend, Don Williams; her son, Richard and his fiancee, Liese; daughter, Kim and husband, Sean; son, John and wife, Niki; and stepchildren Kim, Patty, Tony, and Brandon. Jean was a loving grandmother to Richard III, Christopher, Zachary, Haley, Samantha, and Alexandra; aunt to many nieces and nephews; and great aunt to her beloved Sarah. Funeral service Wednesday morning 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Tuesday evening 5 to 8 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. Interment Saratoga National Cemetery. Jean's family is grateful for all of the hard work, care, and compassion from the nurses, doctors, and support staff of Ellis Hospital and the Neurological ICU, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
