Obituary of Arlene Donnelly

Arlene J. Donnelly, 74, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness. Arlene was born in Schenectady, the daughter of John and Genevieve Bielecki Jurosko. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Arlene will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She had worked for the City of Schenectady as a secretary and clerk for Mayor Karen Johnson and at one time worked for General Electric Co. She was a member of the Bishop Gibbons-Notre Dame Mother's Club and a longtime communicant of St. Luke's Church, where she had also been a Eucharistic Minister. She is survived by her husband of nearly 53 years, Paul T. Donnelly. Arlene was the mother of four children, Daniel P. Donnelly (deceased), John (Cammie) Donnelly of Rotterdam, Colleen Shepardson of Delmar and Christine (William) McGovern of Rotterdam; two sisters, Patricia Rossi of Rotterdam and Phyllis Wintjen of Great Bend, PA; six grandchildren, Delaney and Cameron Shepardson, Brennan and Liam Donnelly and Aidan and Keegan McGovern; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service, Tuesday morning 11:15 a.m.from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 12 noon at St. Luke's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Monday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
