Obituary of Lenore Snyder

Schenectady - Lenore "Eleanor" P. Snyder, 95, formerly of Davis Terrace, died Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Eleanor was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Pasquale and Letizia Ippolito. She was one of eight children. Eleanor was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Through the years she was a hard worker and had worked at several jobs prior to her favorite job at Kramer's Jewelers, where she worked for 35 years. She enjoyed watching the sporting events of her husband and two sons, and enjoyed golf and bowling. Eleanor enjoyed the art classes that she took through the years and was very artistic with her chalk paintings. Eleanor had been a volunteer at the Salvation Army and was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Red Synder, he died in 2005, and their son, John E. Snyder. She is survived by a son, Terry Snyder of Wilmington, NC; daughter-in-law, Roseanne; sister-in-law, Margaret McGinn; four grandchildren, Scott, Erica, Carly, and Ryan; and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Eleanor was predeceased by her siblings, Nellie Aragona, Mary Aragona, Josie Plominski, Connie Baron, Jean Conte, Eugene Ippoliti and Angie Gunn. Funeral service Friday morning 10:15 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
