Obituary of Fred Piersante

Schenectady - Fred "Freddy" Piersante, 53, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014. Fred was born in Schenectady, NY. He was the son of the late Peter and Marie Piersante. He was the owner of Fred's & Joe's Autobody repair shop in Alplaus, NY. Then he was employed by the Schenectady, NY Local #105 Plumbers & Steamfitters Union and the Albany, NY Local #7 Plumbers & Steamfitters Union. Fred was an outstanding local bowler. He was a bowling member of ABC, USBC and PBA for several years. He was a part-time PBA touring pro-bowler. He enjoyed competing against the best bowlers in the world. He also enjoyed horse racing, auto rebuilding, boating, hunting, and fishing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by this daughter, Barbara Piersante, granddaughter, Autumn Piersante-Baker, one brother, two sisters and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends are invited to call at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, on Monday, November 17, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at 9:15 am, then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Brandywine Ave., Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's honor, to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady, NY 12303.
