Schenectady - William Mienaltowski Swatling, of Walnut St., passed away peacefully, but still strong in spirit, November 13, 2014 at Ellis Hospital. Now he is in heaven with his mother, Jennie Mienaltowski; father, William Sr.; and his sister, Dorothy Kelly. As a youngster he attended St. Mary's grammar and Nott Terrace High schools. Epitomized by his living the golden rule, his greatest passion and joy came from helping others as a substance abuse counselor. His dogs, poker, horse racing, football and old time waters are among his cherished loves. His two sons, Robert and Michael Kelly, along with extended family will be celebrating his life with a Memorial Mass, Saturday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist (Union Street, Schenectady) followed by a reception at the Elks Lodge of Rotterdam, 1152 Curry Road. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Animal Protective Foundation or the Schenectady City Mission. May God Bless Billy.
