Schenectady - Magdalena Braungart, 89 formerly of Daisy Ln Niskayuna, died Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Capital Living and Rehabilitation Center. Magda was born and educated in Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1958. She lived in Massachusetts and Maryland before moving to the Schenectady area. She worked for Woolworth Co. in Maryland and worked for The Carl Co for many years. She was a member of the VFW Post 357 and was a volunteer at the Annie Schaeffer Center. She was predeceased by her husband Francis C. Braungart, who died in 1988. Magda is survived by two children, Marianne (Raymond) VanWagner of Schenectady and Michael Braungart of Niskayuna; two grandchildren ,Lonnie ( Donna) Royer and Michael (Christine) Royer; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Rebecca and Paul . Funeral service will be held on Thursday, 11:00 am, Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 50 Colvin Ave., Albany, NY 122006.
