Obituary of Dorothy Masucci

Schenectady - Dorothy R. Masucci passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Born September 30, 1924, Dorothy was the daughter of Jerome and Theresa (Fiorentino) Cappello. After graduating from Mont Pleasant HS, Dorothy work at Schenectady G.E. She left G.E. in 1954 to be a stay at home mom. Dorothy was an avid swimmer, an exceptional knitter, a great baker, and the best mom one could ever ask for. Rarely did she miss any of her kids sporting events. She was a fixture at the top of the bleachers with her knitting. Once her children were older, Dorothy returned to the work force first at IMA Insurance in Albany, then Finserv Computer in Schenectady, before retiring in 1990 from the family business, Ted's Floor Covering. Dorothy was also very active with the Rosary Society of Our Lady Queen of Peace. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Michael N. Masucci Survived by her children, Michael (JoAnne) Masucci, Kathryn (Matthew) Thompson, and Gerald Masucci; her grandchildren, Angela Masucci, Kirsten and Karyn Thompson, Maxwell, Griffin, and Sally Rose Masucci. Funeral services Tuesday morning 8:45 a.m. from Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street and 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment, St. Cyril's Mausoleum.
