Obituary of Ann Constantine

Niskayuna - Ann T. Constantine, 88, of Nelson Dr., died Friday, January 9, 2015, at Ellis Hospital. Ann was born and educated in Wappingers Falls, the daughter of Vincent and Anna Birkenmeyer. At one time she was an airline attendant, before marrying and moving to Niskayuna in 1967. She had worked at Pathways Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for many years. Ann was a very active person, following her interests to learn more and always loved being with people, whether it was walking or taking a class with others. She was a communicant of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church (Rosa Rd.) She was predeceased by her husband, George Constantine, who died in 1988. Survivors include two children, Thomas (Sandra) Constantine of Glenville and Stephanie (Laura) Teitsworth of Rochester; her companion, Richard Kewley of Schenectady; three sisters, Mary Rodrigues of Boynton Beach, FL, Gloria (John) Costello and Bernice Gruhl, all of Wappingers Falls; six grandchildren, Cristyn Baron, Jennifer Proper and Kenneth Constantine, Jacob and Emily Teitsworth and Hannah Gallegos; two great-grandchildren, Shane Baron and Haylee Constantine; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, "Birky" Birkenmeyer. Funeral service, Tuesday morning, 11:00 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours, Monday evening, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Park View Cemetery.
