Town of Day - Mary Jane Murphy Damberg, 85, of the Town of Day, formerly of Washington Rd., Scotia, died Monday, February 9, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. Mary Jane was born in Saratoga Springs, the daughter of John and Madeline Murphy. She was a graduate of Corinth High School. For many years she worked at the First Bank of Scotia and retired in 1984. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed winters in New Smyrna Beach, FL and summers at Sacandaga. She was a member of the Corinth Garden Club, The Red Hat Society of New Smyrna Beach and a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Scotia and Holy Mother and Child Church in Corinth. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Damberg, they married on July 6, 1957, he died on November 18, 2011. Mary Jane is survived by four children, Patrick (Suzanne) Damberg of Dowington, PA, twins, Kathy (Mark) Trudeau of Clifton Park and Karen (James) Sroczynski of Scotia and Margaret Barry of Clifton Park; a sister, Elizabeth Turcott of Corinth; seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Lindsey, Kevin, Alicia, Sean, Adam and Carlee; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends. She was predeceased by her brother, John Murphy. Funeral service, Friday morning, 9:45 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, First St., Scotia, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Thursday afternoon, 4 to 7 p.m. in the evening at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 40 N.
