Obituary of Elaine Campbell-Murphy

Elaine 'Lainie' Campbell-Murphy Burnt Hills Elaine 'Lainie' Campbell-Murphy, 70, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Elaine was born March 14, 1941 in Allentown , PA the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Laudenslager and was educated in that community. Elaine married Terry Campbell August 1, 1959. She earned her college degree from Russell Sage College after moving to the Colonie area with her family in 1965. Lainie taught kindergarten in the South Colonie School District for 30 years, retiring in 1999. She married Frank Adge Murphy July 3, 1990. One of their favorite things to do was to visit their camp on Isle La Motte, VT. Frank predeceased Lainie April 8, 2010. She also very much enjoyed traveling the country and world with her friends and family having taken several memorable trips to the western US, Europe, and the Caribbean. She is survived by her children, Terri Lee (Joseph Fracalossi) Campbell and Brian (Michelle) Campbell; grandchildren, Samantha, Christopher, Eli and Wyatt; sisters, Hollie Winkler and Judith Larkin; and step-children, Paul Murphy, Robert Murphy, Christine Murphy, Linda Towlen and Kathleen Neils. A memorial service will be held Sunday, 4 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the service from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
