Obituary of Mary Kollath

Rotterdam - Mary Mashuta Kollath, 98, died Friday, February 20,2015, at her home. Mary was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Makary and Mary Bosek Mashuta. She was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and Spencer Business School. She was a hard worker and through the years held several jobs first working at the Clark Witbeck Store, as a secretary at Glenridge Hospital , General Electric, owning her own store Kollath's Gift Shop on State St. and retiring from the NYS Department of Labor. She will be remembered as a faithful woman and as a devoted wife and loving sister and aunt. She was predeceased by her husband Steven Kollath. They married in 1940, he died in 2002. Mary was also predeceased by brothers Peter, Jack and Steve Mashuta. She is survived by 1 sister Vera Nedvidek, nieces and nephews John(Linda) Nedvidek, Mary (Craig) Woodrow, Mary Nell Mashuta, Roberta Horton and Makary Mashuta, and great nieces and nephews Craig, Kevin, Mark, Kimberly, Kelly, John, Matthew and Jarrod, and 11 great great nieces and nephews. Funeral service Wednesday morning 9:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 10:00 at St. Gabriel's Church, Rotterdam, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Tuesday evening 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Entombment at Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie. Mary's family would like to thank Home Instead Senior Service Barbara Lyons and staff for the excellent care and support helping Aunt Mary stay in her own home.
