GLENVILLE- Loretta T. Capello, 86, of Glen Terrace, passed away Monday morning, October 12, 2009, at Ellis Hospital, following a long and courageous struggle with congestive heart failure. Loretta was born in Scotia on February 24, 1923, a daughter of the late Jan and Rosalia Ausfeld. A National Honor Student, she was a graduate of Scotia High School. Loretta was employed as a payroll clerk for General Electric, where she met her future husband, Frank, and later worked as a clerk for Hall's Drug Store in Rotterdam. She dedicated her life to being a homemaker. Loretta was a proud, avid gardener, who enjoyed her yard, once her children were grown up. She also acted as a Brownie Troop Leader, was a member of Whispering Pines Golf Course and played on Sts. Cyril & Method Ladies Bowling League. Loretta, the last of Scotia's eleven Groveland Ausfeld clan, is survived by her husband, Frank S. Capello, II, whom she married February 28, 1943; children, Frank S. "Cap" Capello, III and his wife Allison of Rexford, Ronald J. Capello and his wife Jane of Saratoga Springs, and Christine H. Douglas and her companion Charles McGuirk of Wynantskill; grandchildren, Deborah Lynne Capello, Frank S. "Steve" Capello, IV and his wife Tammy, Christopher Houghton, Amy Kennedy and her husband Dr. Alex, Dr. Seth A. Capello and his wife Trish, Mark A. Douglas and his wife Laura, Brent E. Douglas, and Kara Rose Douglas; and great grandchildren, Skylar, Noah, Hailey and Sage Capello, Madeline and Samantha Kennedy. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 9 AM from Immaculate Conception Church, Saratoga Road, Glenville. Interment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer, Niskayuna.
