Fern Hilda Brayman Capone, 96, formerly of Fifth St., Scotia, passed away peacefully at Glendale Nursing Home Friday, January 22. Born in Schoharie, Fern lived a few years in New York City, moving back to the area in 1971. In Brooklyn, she worked for the Corbin and Morrison Telephone Answering Service, retiring in 1971. Daughter of Lena Brayman and stepfather James Brayman, Fern was the oldest of five siblings, whom she is all predeceased by, Bob and Warren Brayman , Trudy Velett and Marg Chapman. Survivors include a son, Peter Capone (Cindi) of Schenectady; and a daughter, Denise Kirker (George) of Scotia; six grandsons, Robert Capone (Carol) and Kevin Capone of Maynard, MA, Peter Michael Capone of Buffalo, NY, Scott Kirker of Scotia, George Kirker, Jr. (Samantha) of Pattersonville and Stephen Kirker (Kelsey) of Highland, NY; also survived by five great-grandaughters; one great-grandson; and one great-great-grandson; several cousins, nieces and nephews. The other loves in her life were her cat, Dixie; and her four legged granddogs and grandcats. Funeral service on Tuesday morning at 11, at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. An hour of visitation will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Interment will be Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
