Obituary of Dorothy Hallahan

Syracuse - Dorothy "Dot" Hallahan (Stock), 95, passed away peacefully on March 31st and joined her beloved husband, Richard. She will be deeply missed, as all who knew her, loved her. Born in Schenectady, NY she was a graduate of Mohanesen High School. Dot was an avid gardener and reader. She particularly loved African Violets, crossword puzzles and she made the absolute best meatloaf. Dorothy and her late husband Richard were married on June 19th, 1948. Following their marriage, they moved to Long Island and eventually settled in Williston Park. Dorothy worked for many years at the Shelter Rock Public Library where her love of books was a great asset. After her retirement, Dorothy and her husband moved to Sparta NJ and then ultimately to Liverpool NY to maintain a close connection with their six grandchildren. Dot was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by her two children Richard and Janice and son-in law Paul, her loving grandchildren Katey Padden, Lindsey and Kelsey Matousek, Jason (Michelle), Katrina and Kevin Hallahan and their mother Barbara. In addition she is survived by a great grandson, Theo, as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be at the Daly Funeral Home from 10:30 to 11:20 on Saturday April 11th followed by reminiscences and a brief prayer service.
