Obituary of Margaret Cameron

Cattaraugus - Margaret Sanborn Cameron, 93, of Jefferson St. and formerly of Snowden Ave., Schenectady, died Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Lakeshore Hospital. Margaret was born in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of the Rev. Henry Sanborn and Maud Rankin Sanborn. She graduated at 16 from Ketchikan High School in Ketchikan, Alaska and later from the University of Minnesota. She married her husband, William J. Cameron, in July 1945, and moved with him to Schenectady in 1947. There she raised her children and was employed for many years by St. Clare's Hospital. She was a communicant of and member of the Rosary Society of St. Luke's Church. She moved to Cattaraugus in 1993. There she became a communicant of St. Mary's Church, where she loved to play the organ, and a member of the Altar Society, a member of the Women's Civic League and the Let's Travel Club. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, William, in 1980. She is survived by four children, James (Robin) Cameron of Rotterdam, Mary Ann (Robert) Hebert of Cattaraugus, William (Martha) Cameron of Schenectady and Peter (Marguerite) Cameron of Scotia; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral service, Monday morning, 8:30 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 9 a.m. at St. Luke's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Sunday afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
