Nancy Carafano, 94, formerly of Richard St. and Heritage Home for Women, died on Friday, September 9, 2011, at The Avenue Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Nancy was born in Troy, the daughter of James and Carmela Carafano. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and had worked for many years at the General Electric Co., retiring in 1979. She is survived by her sister Philomena Pacelli; and four nephews, Albert Ferradino, James Carafano, Charles Carafano, Jr. and James Pacelli; and many great-nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by siblings, Michael and Charles Carafano and Rose Ferradino; and nephew, Fred Ferradino. Funeral service Saturday morning, 10:45, from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, and 11:30 a.m. at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A calling hour will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 at the funeral home. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Home for Women, 1519 Union St., Schenectady, New York 12309. Nancy's family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice for the care and kindness they provided to Nancy and family members.
