Burnt Hills - Mary Jane Mac Farlane, 75, passed away on the evening of May 25, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady on December 24, 1939, she lived on Lenox Road until the time of her marriage. She attended Onieda School and graduated in the last class of Nott Terrace High School; she then attended and graduated from Vermont College and shortly thereafter married her sweetheart, Robert John Mac Farlane, with whom she was married for 55 years and were blessed with three children, Robert Todd Mac Farlane of Clifton Park; Heather Finley of Dallas, Georgia and William Mac Farlane of Edwards, Colorado. They also have five grandchildren. She and Bob moved to Boonville, NY after their marriage, where Bob worked for the Conservation Department and Mary Jane for Snow Ridge Ski area as secretary to the manager. They purchased a home in Lowville, NY where they had a beautiful old home that they built with an extensive kitchen. Mary Jane dearly loved that kitchen. They then moved back home and purchased the home where they presently reside in Burnt Hills. In 1968, Bob worked for C. T. Male Associates as a project manager; he then set up his own Land Survey Office in Ballston Spa with Mary Jane as his secretary from 1970-2014. They retired last year. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A visitation period will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
