Niskayuna - Joan Davies Warlop, 58, died Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the Baptist Health and Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. Joan was born in Hartford, CT, a graduate of King Philip High School in Wrentham, MA and earned her B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the Univ. of Wisconsin at Madison in 1979. She worked as an electrical engineer in power plant control systems for Houston Lighting and Power from 1979 to 1984, later working for Metcalf & Eddy on plant control systems for Boston Harbor Waste Water Treatment Plant, and in Washington D.C. on their waste water treatment plant. Moving to the Niskayuna, New York area in 1994. Through the years she was a member of professional organizations pertinent to her career. In her free time she enjoyed sewing and cross stitch, photography and cooking. She was predeceased by her father, James Davies. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, James Warlop; their son, Paul Warlop of Pittsburgh; her mother, Joan Davies of Norfolk, MA; a sister, Joy Russo of Mansfield, MA; two brothers, James Davies of Anaheim Hills,CA and Jay Davies of Plymouth, MA; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral service, Tuesday morning, 11 a.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church (Rosa Rd.), where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
