Obituary of Peter Verdicchio

Schenectady - Peter A. Verdicchio, 87 of Ward Ave. died Saturday, November 14, 2015,at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center. Peter was born in Mechanicville, the son of Louis and Mary Verdicchio. He was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and had attended Hudson Valley Community College. At one time he had worked with his father at Verdicchio's Dry Cleaners in Mechanicvillle, before becoming an air conditioning specialist working at the General Electric Co, retiring in 1988, with many years service. He moved to Schenectady in 1974, enjoyed music and loved to go dancing. Peter was a communicant of St. Luke's Church and at one time had been a member of the folk group. He will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, step father and grandfather. Peter is survived by his wife of 40 years Patricia Flynn Verdicchio, a daughter Lynn (Michael) Verrigni of Rotterdam, a step-son Kevin (Elaine Changa) Greenwood of Watervliet ; and two grandchildren Jacob and Juliana Verrigni. Peter was predeceased by his step-son, Ricky Greenwood. Funeral service Wednesday morning 10:30 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc. 242 McClellan St. Schenectady and 11:00 at St. Luke's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Wednesday morning 9 to 10:30 at the funeral home. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
