Obituary of Patricia Castelli

NISKAYUNA- Patricia E. Tibone Castelli, 73, passed away Friday morning, September 10, 2010, at her daughter's home in Holliston, Massachusetts. She was surrounded by her very loving family. Pat was born August 6, 1937 in Oceanside, N.Y., the daughter of the late James and Amalia "Amy" Salle Tibone. She was raised and educated in Rockville Centre and was a graduate of Oceanside High School. Pat continued her education at Middlebury College in Vermont where she earned a bachelor's degree in 1958. For many years she taught in the Adult Education Program of the Schenectady City School District. A great lover of the arts, Pat held a special passion for dance. She studied ballet and modern in her youth and upon moving to Schenectady in the 1960's, she joined what was then the Capital Area Modern Dance Council. Pat danced and choreographed with their performing group as well as taught in the adjunct dance programs at Union College and Schenectady County Community College. She loved to travel to Europe, most especially, her beloved Italy. Pat was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, John R. Castelli, whom she married June 20, 1959 in Rockville Centre. He died December 1, 2001. Survivors include her children, Michelle Castelli Clancy of Holliston, MA, and John J. Castelli and his wife Jean of Huntington, N.Y.; grandchildren, Mathew Clancy, Erin Clancy, Jack Castelli, and Nick Castelli; brother, Jim Tibone and his wife Kathy of Los Angeles, CA; and a nephew, Vincent Tibone, of Los Angeles, CA. Funeral service Tuesday morning at 8:15 A.M. from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady, then to St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street, Schenectady, where a Mass will be celebrated at 9 A.M. Interment will follow in the Castelli family plot at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours Monday from 5 to 9 P.M. at the Daly Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loundonville, N.Y. 12211.
