Joe...I will always remember the good times we had with Excelsior. You were always a good friend, and I will never forget what you did for me. You are in Gods hands now. May the love of Gods peace rule and abide now here, and forever more.... gone but NEVER forgotten...Amen

I grew up in Catskill, NY, two doors down from the Candrillis. Vi & Sal were good friends of my parents, Phyllis & Earl Libman. I am Pan Libman (now Ruzzi) & have a sister, Bo, who is 6 years younger than me. I played with Joe & Joetta & we were often invited to the Candrilli household for a delicious Italian dinner of spaghetti & meatballs, deftly made by Vi, of course! Since my mother was from Wales & you know how boring English cooking is, she wasn't the best cook. But Vi, how we loved to go there & eat HER cooking! I was very interested to see that Joseph was a draftsman at GE--my father was an Engineer & also worked at GE in Schenectady--of course he was older even than Vi & Sal, but I imagine if he were alive to today he would be very pleased that Joe followed in his footsteps. I am so happy to see that Joe named one of his daughters after his mother! Those were happy days, growing up on Broad Street in a nice area of a nice town during a wonderful decade! PS My husband, Pep Ruzzi, read this & asked me to add that he remembered Joe from high school band & very much admired his saxaphone playing!
