Uncle Roy (3rd generation - my grandmother Mildred's brother) was an amazing, fascinating person who will be greatly missed. We are so thankful to have gotten to know him more in his later years, and to have had him be honored at our family reunions. My son, Tyler, a history and military enthusiast, chose Uncle Roy to write his senior paper on, with Uncle Roy's collaboration, and it's quite an exquisite essay. They formed a unique bond in recent years. Tyler will be honoring Uncle Roy by wearing the military coat that he bestowed him a few years ago at his services on Tuesday. Uncle Roy has been a privilege to have been part of our family, and his service to our country is an honor we are all forever grateful for. Salute!
