My deepest sympathies go out to Bud and Joan’s entire family and friends. Although I’d only known her during her latter years of life, Joan quickly became someone I’d loved and admired. I was fortunate enough to be able to work for her, tending her gardens. But one of the best things durung that time was visiting with Joan. It was apparent early on that family was most important to her, so we would mostly talk about our families. Joan had an amazing ability to listen - I mean really listen. She was compassionate and would always undoubtedly lift my spirits. One day I said there were a lot of weeds in the garden and her reply was “I don’t see any weeds, I only see the flowers.” I think that sums it up for I could go on and on about this remarkable woman, whom I’d only known briefly, but made an indelible impression on me. She will be dearly missed by me and all whose paths she crossed.

John and I were so blessed to have Joan in our lives. She was a wonderful person with a huge heart and a great laugh! I will miss catching up on life with her in The Lupe kitchen. May you rest in peace Joanie and soar with the Angels. We love you.
