Karen was always a wonderful and caring aunt to my two daughters, Leslie and Erin, who always called her "Aunt Karen". She would always remember their birthdays, holidays and even religous celebrations with a thoughtful card or note. She was a loving and attentive presence in the lives of my family members and I, along with my wife and daughters, will miss her dearly. We are all very sorry for her untimely passing. Andrew Zaikis

I shared Karen's name on Florence Avenue. We were the two Karens. We also shared our love for dogs. We moved into the neighborhood at about the same time and became friends- Karen was wonderful with my boys/ and always spoiled them-at Halloween, especially. Everyone knew hers was the house to hit for the biggest treats. She was so kind to my son, Andrew, as well. He was her paperboy for years and she tipped him royally. We always waved and laughed. Her laugh was infectious. I was so thrilled to spend time with her last summer at the Andersen's graduation party for Michael. We talked about life in the Villages and she laughed about her "boyfriend of 80" there. She certainly picked a great time to celebrate living- in her move to Florida. She was so happy there. I'm blessed to have such a parting memory of Karen, as we laughed and hugged goodbye, hoping to see each other at the next Andersen event.I guess we'll have to wait for heaven to hug again. Karen didn't have the easiest life, with her ilness, miscarriage, love life, but she certainly made the best of it and persevered!! I really loved her. I'm sorry I can't attend either memorial-I'm out of town , but I will remember her and be sad at the loss for you, her family. I'm glad she's with the Lord, no more pain, no tears, no suffering!!!, if she can't be on earth. Sincerely, Karen Sanders, Dan King and Andrew King
