Dear Joannie and family,
So sorry to hear of Everett's passing. He was a great guy and he always made me chuckle. ...And he made the best Manhattan Clam Chowder. You were all so welcoming to me and Jim Bowers at all the wonderful clambakes that you (and Gerry, of course) invited us to over the years. Have thought of you all numerous times over the years. My condolences.

Really sad to hear of Everetts passing. I knew him since my coming on SFD back in 1973. I soon learned Everett was a, tell it like it is, type of guy. Everyone respected him for that. He was looked up to by all, and many sought his opinion on whatever was the current issue. Always doing his job to the highest standard, he was a pleasure to work with, and just a really good guy. He taught me and many young firefighters the right way to do things. He will always be remembered for that. Not only on the job, but off the job also. He and Joan raised a fine family. I know he was so proud of all of them. He will alway be remembered and missed by all. R.I.P Everett.
So sorry I could not attend the service, as I am in Florida for the winter.
My condolences to Joan, John, Joe, Brian and Diane

I was so sad to hear about Everett’s passing. I don’t think I have seen him since the last picnic I went to and that has to be 3 or 4 years ago. I worked with Everett from my first day on the SFD and for many years after that. The last station we worked at together was Station #9 on Brandywine Ave. Spent a lot of years there with him. I have a lot of fond memories of him even though he was cantankerous at times. He was one of the first to arrive at my house after it burned in “78” to help me close it up. Quite a few others showed too be he was in the first group and it was before the fire was out. That was in the days when everyone helped each other out. I don’t think it’s that way now.
I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to the wake but the weather didn’t look that promising (snow) and it’s a long drive down from Lake George and even a longer drive back.
Again my condolences
Fred Collins
