I'll miss you, Grandma, and I'm sorry for how you suffered. You were so strong until the very end, I'm not even sure some realized the extent of your pain and what you'd been going through. I may not have known myself had my mother not just broken two shoulders, getting surgery on one. You faced every obstacle with courage and tenacity that most could not manage. I'll always remember your pep talks, and running errands with you around town with Dad. You tried to teach me not to worry or to dwell in the negative, and to appreciate the simple things in life that make us happy. I looked forward to seeing your endless collection of ever-changing seasonal decor, including the dozen or so wreaths you had hanging around your house for Christmas (that my father always bothered you about). You had inspired me to acquire quite a collection of my own that I'm not quite as motivated to put out as you were. I wanted you to be with us for at least a little bit longer, but I realize our time here is fleeting...and as you said, it didn't get easier. Grandma, I wish I could have done more for you or hugged you one more time. I hope I am able to see you again someday.
