We had the pleasure of meeting Rose at many happy celebrations of the Paul Gatta Family. She was always so gracious and had great pride in her children and grandchildren. She must have been a wonderful mother because only a dedicated mother could raise a child who possesses such a generous heart and compassion for all those in need. And that child is Paul Gatta.

Elaine, Paul, and family, I was so very sorry to hear the news of your mother's death. She was a wonderful person, and although our paths didn't cross as often once I moved away from Schenectady, I will really miss her. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers, and I wish I could be with all of you at this time. Love, Jane

Even when Aunt Rose was suffering, her thoughts never dwelled on herself. She would always be more interested in those around her and willing to share with them in the joys of life. She was one of those very rare gems, the kind that come along once in a lifetime. One of my earliest memories of Aunt Rose and Uncle Paul was in their kitchen of their duplex. It was Christmas, and the adults were all in the living and dining rooms. I was in the little kitchen sitting at the table alone with Aunt Rose and Uncle Paul, watching them artfully stuff fresh cannolis for their guests. My mind's eye can still see them trimming the ends of their homemade cannolis with pistachios. Uncle Paul gave me part of one to try. I had never tasted anything so sublime. To this day, I have been in search of the perfect cannoli, but it could only be found in Aunt Roses's and Uncle Paul's kitchen. Those Cannolis will always be the perfect metaphor for my Aunt Rose and Uncle Paul - for a life well-lived and well loved. A perfect life can only be found in the hearts and memories of those we love. Fly home Aunt Rose! - Until we see one another again. All my love, your Goddaughter, Joanie

To the Surviving Family Members of Rose Cirincione Gatta: We learned of Rose's passing in an e-mail and obituary shared to us from her nephew, Tom Cirincione. In my youthful years, I was raised in Schenectady and knew Rose from occasional family gatherings and visitations to brother, Dominic's medical office. Tom has been helping me gather geneological information on the Cirincione and Mirate families. He related how much his Aunt Rose was such a great help to him in his efforts and how she was a treasure trove of family information. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies on Rose's passing. Celebrate her life and be comforted that she has gone on to an even better life with the Heavenly Father. We are sorry to be separated by such a great distance and wish you God's Peace. Sincerely, Jeff & Karen Mirate & Family

Dearest 'Lainey, I am so sorry to hear of your mom's death. Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family at this time. So many thoughts ran through my head yesterday when I heard. I thought of the beautiful birthday cakes Mrs. Gatta made with that delicious marshmallow frosting and the many times I was at your house on Strong St. having so much fun. I have fond memories of those days and I hope your memories of your mom take you through this difficult time. love, Patty
