Margaret Howell Obituary

Margaret Patten Howell, 80, passed away September 16, 2009, at home in Kingsway Village. Margaret was born in Schenectady, daughter of the late Elizabeth and William Patten. She was educated in Schenectady schools. Margaret was a receptionist for Dr. Samuel Bell for 15 years, retiring many years ago. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and St. Clare's Hospital Auxiliary. Margaret was the widow of John C. Howell Sr. He died in 2000. She was predeceased by a son, Mark Howell. Margaret is survived by two sons, John C. Howell Jr. (Pamela) and Michael P.(Anne) Howell; one brother, Bartlett Patten; three grandchildren, Mark Howell, Kathleen Howell and Maggie Howell; sister-in-law, Janice Russell; several nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be Saturday, Sept. 19, at 9:45 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. and at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady.
