Delanson-Paul H. Lambert, Sr. Senior died peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 11, 2012, with his family by his side, after his very courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Schenectady on July 27, 1952, the son of Jennie Ackerson Jennings and Eddie Lambert and stepfather, Raymond Jennings, Sr. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had worked for Schenectady International for 20 years and the Golub Corp. for many years. Paul loved riding his 1999 Roadking Harley Davidson and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren. He loved being a part of the Harley Rendezvous staff for the past 28 years. During that time he was head of staff for campgrounds and traffic, where he made lifelong friendships, including Frank and Antoinette Potter. He was a past chief of the Mariaville Fire Department. Paul will be remembered for his infectious smile, his humorous sarcasm, his willingness to help anyone in need and his devotion to his family and extended family (ILCC). He is survived by his devoted wife, Sherron (Rickson) Lambert. They were married on March 28, 1970. They loved camping with family, riding the Harley, working together as staff at the Harley Rendezvous and concerts held at the ILCC. And most of all they loved being grandparents and vacationing in Tennessee together. Forty-two years of marriage, Sherron never left his side throughout his illness. Senior is also survived by his son and best friend, Paul H. (Cindi Kruger Lambert), Jr. Junior; and daughter, little princess Sherri (Charles) Lambert Hanson and his cherished grandchildren, Paul H. Lambert III, Alexander C. Lambert I, and Destiny T. Hanson, who all melted his heart everytime they were around him; his brother, Tom Coop (Kathy) Cooper; his sisters, Milly (Doug) Merwin and Doreen Lambert; many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Theresa, Helen, Raymond, Jr. and niece, Jan Cooper. Funeral service Wedneday morning 11 o'clock at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours Tuesday afternoon 4 to 8 in the evening at the funeral home. Interment Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 or the American Diabetes Association, 2 Pine West Plaza, Albany, NY 12205.
