Obituary of Francis Murphy

Francis E. Murphy (Frank, Adge, Grand Adge) Burnt Hills- Francis E. Murphy, 78, a long time resident of Kingsley Road passed away April 8, 2010 at his home. He was born July 1, 1931 in Arlington Massachusetts, the son of the late Paul Henry and Mildred Mary Fitzgerald Murphy. Frank graduated from Malden Catholic High School in 1949. He went on to Boston College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial management in 1953. Frank served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. Frank was united in marriage on January 28, 1955 to Virginia A. Quinn at the Immaculate Conception Church in Medford, MA. Virginia passed away on July 1 1971. Frank joined The General Electric Company in Schenectady in 1955. He was a graduate of the Company's Financial Management Program and served as manager of Personnel Accounting Services. He was proud to serve as the Dean of Effective Presentation in the GE Leadership Development Program for many years. Frank retired after 36 years of service with the Company. Frank was an avid skier and golfer and enjoyed his camp on Isle La Motte, Vermont. Frank married his second true love Elaine Laudenschlager on July 3, 1990 and welcomed her children Terri and Brian to the family. He is survived by his wife Elaine, his 5 children Paul (Janice) Murphy, Bob Murphy, Christine (Bill) Murphy, Linda Towlen, and Kathleen (Dave) Neils, his 8 beloved grandchildren: Laura and Patrick; Michael and Erin; Lindsey and Lauren, Kaitlin and Callie. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at the Daly Funeral Home on Monday April 12, 2010 from 4 to 6 pm A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Church, Ballston Lake at 9:30 am to which family and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
