Obituary of Richard Tetlak

Richard A. Tetlak, 53, of Burtonville Road, passed away Sunday morning, June 14, 2009, at home. Richard was born in Schenectady on June 13, 1956, the son of Andrew M. Tetlak of Schenectady and the late Anna Yager Tetlak. He was a graduate of the former Linton High School, class of 1973. For many years, Richard was employed by Price Chopper Supermarkets, where he worked most recently as grocery manager of the Guilderland store. Richard loved polka music, classic Chevrolets, and was an avid collector of baseball cards and sports memorabilia. In addition to his father, Richard is survived by his dear wife, Lynn Pierce Tetlak, whom he married December 11, 1976; a daughter, Charlene Parsons and her husband, Jason of San Diego; a son, Scott Tetlak of Schenectady; two granddaughters, Samara and Huxley Parsons; one sister, Mary Jo Krause and her husband, Daniel of Fultonville; mother-in-law, Mary Brown of Schenectady; two nephews, Joshua and Nathan Krause; and one niece, Amanda Krause. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Daly Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
