Obituary of James Reisinger

Rotterdam - James Jim Reisinger, 70, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born the son of the late Joseph H. and Margaret J. Peg Reisinger, attended Mohonasen High School and resided in Rotterdam his entire life. Jim was an operating engineer with Local #106 and worked on several construction sites in and around the capital district for Modern Construction Company and many others. After the construction of the former Silver Haven Nursing Home, he became maintenance supervisor and purchasing agent for the home. He was a life member of the Carman White Eagle Ambulance Squad. Jim's greatest love was spending time at his camp on Lake Pleasant with his family, where he enjoyed boating, his Sea Doo and his many other toys that kept him busy just being outside. His other pride and joy was his classic 1956 Thunderbird which he drove in the annual Village of Speculator's 4th of July Parade for over 20 years. He was also a member of the local T-Bird Club. Jim had an uncanny ability to fix anything and the tools to do it. Not only did he help countless neighbors and friends, he also passed on his talents to many young men from the neighborhood. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Kimberly A. (Ron) Constantino of Rotterdam, and Bonnie M. Reisinger of Ballston Lake; cherished granddaughter, Deanna M. Pfau; longtime companion, Kathy Connelly; sister, Joyce H. Fonda; nephew, Mark J. (Michele) Fonda; niece Ann (Flemming) Saether; five great-nieces and nephews and his canine companion, Dakota. The funeral service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
