I knew John for a very long time, we went to Howe School together thru High School and connected later in life when we both used to work out at All-American fitness. John was a good guy and always made me laugh. I'm sorry I couldn't attend the service, but I was in the hospital that day. I hope his family can heal from his loss, and may he rest in peace.

I remember the first time I met John and Owen...I was in my front yard with my son(Schdy Police Officer)and my grandsons. There was a structure fire on Campbell Avenue. I noticed this tall man with a beautiful young boy sitting upon his shoulders walking very fast...it was then my son said..."Hey John, what brings you to my neighborhood?" They both laughed. John said he brought his son to Hillhurst Park and when he saw the smoke, heard the sirens and the fire trucks went passing by Owen was very excited and wanted to see where they were going. John said he could't get to the fire fast enough because Owen continually said..."Let's go Daddy, hurry up." John was smiling and beaming from ear to ear with pride
as he spoke of his son and introduced him to all of us. Owen and Daddy holding hands, standing side by side in my yard as we all watched the fire. It was very special to witness the devotion of the father to his son and the love between the father and his son. Whenever I saw John after that he was always pleasant and he always beamed from ear to ear when I asked how Owen was. I will always remember the tall man with his precious son upon his shoulders and the smiles on their faces.
I embrace you with my love and heartfelt condolences on your great loss and as long as keep the memories of those we have lost alive...their spirit soars. Love, Barbara
