I can still hear Steve talking about the activities of the KAPL Fishing Club. He was an advocate of fishing whenever I passed him in the halls of KAPL, always pushing me, as webmaster, to add information and pictures on the KAPL Club pages, which existed on a local unclassified intranet (which probably no longer exists or is permitted).
I also remember a couple of years in which Steve organized a USGS topo map sale in the KAPL cafeteria. Maps, which now cost about $8 each, could be purchased for fifty cents.
I had not been in touch with Steve for many years but was very saddened when reading his obituary in the paper this morning. My thoughts are with his family's loss.
