I was privileged to know Phil for many years as a colleague in the Syracuse City School District. More recently we spent Tuesday mornings together with other retirees at Wegmans. Phil was a good man and a gifted educator. I'll miss him.

Met and had a wide variety of discussions with Phil at the old Regent Bar on E. Genesee St. in Syracuse operated by Harold Shinherr and Gus Pappas, both deceased. Just a nice guy well liked by all who knew him! I will remember him in my prayers. Joe Medicis

Dear Elaine,Bill and your families, We were so sad to hear of Phil's passing. We have been remembering some wonderful times: Sunday dinners, after Easter services meals, our church festivals, and for me meeting at school district events. He had friends at my school so he came to many of our staff parties. He will be missed. We enjoyed his good humor and how he cared for his friends. He was proud of his family. We heard a lot about the kids. May his memory be eternal. CallieAnn Pappastavrou, Tina Facciolo and family, Christine and Gary Foley

We had the good fortune to work with Phil at Seymour School. He had a wonderful sense of humor and integrity. His focus was always the education of "his kids" and the support for his teachers. We will always remember him.

Sad to read of Phil's passing. His name brought many memories of another time. Burnet Ave was much different then and Phil was a large part of it's uniqueness. He could be seen most evenings, usually at Findley's, meeting and greeting, and talking sports or whatever was the current topic. I'll miss Phil and those good times as I'm sure will many others
